The hair.
The eyes.
The smile.
The attitude.
It seems the only thing he inherited from me is my awfully dorky laugh and profuse sweating.
Lucky kid.
Well that and my artistic abilities.
We paint and draw every day. To his demands, not mine.
Most moms I know won't let any sort of paint within a 5 mile radius of their homes. But I'm ok with the mess. Nothing makes me happier than seeing Lil Man paint.
Granted, everything might look like the same ol' colorful blob over and over. But each stroke is achieved with such purpose and concentration...even for a 2 year old.
He takes his painting very seriously.....

And then yesterday, we were outside, laying in the grass drawing.
"Mama. Draw bumble bee."
So I did.
And then he did this [I know it's a little fuzzy, but it's in blue].....

HE DREW A BUMBLE BEE!
HE'S ONLY 2!
Ugh.
I died right then and there.
Gosh I love that kid.
oh my goodness. is it my untrained eye that doesn't know that i think his painting is beautiful because his artist mommy picked pretty colors or is his stuff like amazingly beautiful??? seriously. call me weird but i am obsessed with the artist that is your son.
ReplyDeleteHe does it all himself!!!
ReplyDeleteI just give him the whole tray of Crayola watercolors and he goes to town with them.
I'm usually not allowed anywhere near him when he paints. Except to hand him more paper. LoL. I wasn't kidding when I said he takes it seriously.
And yeah, his color palettes amaze the heck out of me. I have every single painting he has ever made. I had to narrow it down to just a few for this post though.
The colors are so vibrant and brilliant! It reminds me of what I wish I could feel like all the time.
ReplyDeleteAnd as far as I know, bumblebees are supposed to be fuzzy. You may have a prodigy on your hands!
Regardless, it's so cool that you've found something to share that you both enjoy, and I'm really thankful you've chosen to share it with me and the rest of the interblags! :D
